‘I HAVE DEDICATED MY LIFE TO MAHAMA FOR FREE’ – DKB Declares

Popular Ghanaian comedian, DKB, has declared that he has dedicated his life to NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

DKB publicly expressed his endorsement for Mahama at the NDC’s 2024 Manifesto Launch in Winneba, Central Region, on August 24, 2024, citing a personal connection and gratitude for the former president acknowledging his work.

“I’m here to reciprocate the love JM showed me on the night of the youth soiree at Bukom. It has never happened to me in my life before that a president will repeat two of my jokes. I’ve dedicated my life to him for free. I’m telling you, I’m here to reciprocate what he has done for me,” DKB explained in an interview with JoyNews.

Referred to as a “Presidential Comedian,” DKB revealed that he has entertained all Ghanaian presidents apart from the deceased John Atta Mills in the current republic.

He mentioned that he had performed for ex-presidents John Kufuor, John Mahama, current president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

DKB proudly pointed out that Mahama repeating his jokes has led to him being the only comedian endorsed by a president, resulting in international recognition.

DKB also mentioned that Mahama’s acknowledgement shows that the ex-president truly cares about the creative arts industry.

“Do you know how it feels when you are getting calls from Brazil, Colorado, the Middle East? There are Ghanaians in Jordan, in Quebec, watching it online. I was moved and touched because it means that the president pays attention to my industry. So, if he’s in power, how difficult will it be for him to cater to my industry?” DKB remarked.
