Retired Ghanaian boxer, Ike Quartey has reacted to claims by a section of Ghanaians that he is poverty stricken and a drug addict.
A photo of Ike Quartey that went viral on the internet after it surfaced barely 48 hours ago generated a lot of reactions from social media users and most were worried about his well-being.
In the said photo, the legendary boxer popularly called ‘bazooka’ looked unkempt and quite lean and some people perceived he was broke whilst others thought he is on drug and thus needs help as soon as possible
But in a Joy FM interview recorded by Ghbase.com, Ike Bazooka Quartey vehemently shut down the allegations, stating that he is doing fine.
He allayed fears of ill-health and urged people to recognize that as he ages, his looks will change.
“By the Grace of God I am very comfortable and working on my hospital project. The fact that I decided to grow my hair does not mean I am on drugs. I am also growing and cannot look the same as I looked previously,” he said.
