Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, also known as Roman Fada, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has stated that he is prepared to take over from the deceased party leader, Akua Donkor.
Roman Fada verified the passing of the party’s flagbearer during an interview with Angel FM in Accra on Tuesday, October 29th.
He stated that the deceased politician became ill on Saturday, October 26, 204 and was taken to Nsawam Government Hospital for treatment before being released.
Nevertheless, she was taken to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 27, formerly known as the Ridge Hospital, and passed away around 10 pm on Monday, October 28.
Akua Donkor passed away at 83 years old as stated by Roman Fada.
Roman Fada expressed his willingness to take on the responsibility of being the party’s leader if he is asked to do so after the unfortunate death of Akua Donkor.
According to him, “If the law says I should be the flagbearer, why not…I am ready to take up the mantle as the flagbearer.
He added, “Since I am an entertainment person, I hope I will get support from my colleagues in the entertainment field.”
The Ghana Freedom Party is anticipated to issue a statement officially declaring her passing and outlining their future plans.
