Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty has shared insights about her spouse, Hopeson Adorye, and the challenges they have encountered, especially during his involvement with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Hopeson, a previous NPP parliamentary candidate for Kpone Katamanso, was removed from the party in November 2023 after supporting Alan Kyerematen instead of the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
This dismissal was considered a breach of party regulations. As a result, he was let go from his job at the airport, which added to the family’s difficulties.
During a TikTok live session, Empress Gifty shared that although there have been challenges, the outlook is now more positive.
After John Dramani Mahama’s triumph in the 2024 elections, Hopeson went to the home of the President-elect to express his congratulations. Empress observed that her spouse has regained his position at the airport, despite Mahama not having been sworn into office yet.
Empress Gifty criticized those who suggested she should reduce her talking. She remarked that since no one understands the challenges and assaults she and her spouse endured, nobody has the authority to tell her to stop speaking.
She declared herself as the only gospel musician married to a politician.
