Afrobeat artist Kuami Eugene, whose full name is Eugene Kwame Marfo, has articulated that achieving a Grammy Award as a Ghanaian will require a combination of grace, diligent effort, and strategic connections. In a discussion regarding the esteemed awards on Cape Coast’s Property FM, the acclaimed singer of the hit song “Monica” remarked that the Ghanaian music industry is currently in its nascent stages of development.
“When we talk about the Grammys we ought to know that we are now taking baby steps and even in Ghana promoting a song demands an artiste to pay for promo.
“And looking at our population we are about four times or more the size of Nigeria and so it will take grace, so much work and connections to win the Grammys,” he added.
