Lawrence Nana Asiamah, also known as Bulldog now Bullgod has commended Shatta Wale after the artist’s recent remarkable performance at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert held in Jamaica.
Bulldog, former manager of Shatta Wale, expresses his enthusiasm for the artist and his current team for receiving an invitation to the show.
He also conveys his pride for Shatta Wale for representing the nation, stating it was a dream realized for the ‘On God’ hitmaker since Vybz Kartel was his idol and he hoped to meet the Jamaican artist.
“It was part of the dream. Shatta has always admired Vybz Kartel, and even before I met him, I saw what he was doing; I’m a big reggae and dancehall fan. When you look at where he’s going with his craft, you can see the inspiration behind it,” he said on Joy Prime show.
When Bullgod started collaborating with the artist, he motivated his team to pursue a path similar to Vybz Kartel’s, a goal they strived for until their unexpected exit.
Nonetheless, Bullgod shows pride in Shatta Wale’s present team for assisting him in reaching the goal, despite the fact that he (Bullgod) is no longer collaborating with the artist.
“We saw the dream at the time and recognised where the influence and inspiration were coming from. So, to witness this full circle moment in our lifetime, we are proud of the team Shatta Wale is with now, who made sure this dream became a reality. Everyone is happy, trust me. Whether we are with him or not, it’s a dream we started, and we’re glad it happened,” he remarked.
Bullgod conveys his joy in being involved in the significant comeback of Vybz Kartel, particularly given the artist’s endurance during his thirteen years in prison.
He also discloses that the concept for Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert was originally developed by him, Kendrick Yehowada, and Vybz Kartel, prior to the unfortunate arrest of the Jamaican artist.
