Rex Omar, a prominent member of AriseGhana, has stated that Jean Mensa, the Electoral Commissioner, now poses a danger to Ghana’s peace and security.
“We those in Arise Ghana joined the recent demonstration against the Electoral Commission because Jean Mensa has become a threat to the peace and security of this country”, he told Amansan Krakye on Property FM in Cape Coast.
The Highlife icon warned that Ghana is at risk of a problematic situation if the Electoral Commissioner is not urged by religious groups and civil society organizations to conduct a forensic audit.
“If the clergy, civil society organizations and the religious bodies don’t speak to compel Jean Mensa to do a forensic audit and we vote with this register then we’re sitting on a time bomb,” he warned .
“Jean Mensa is not the one to determine who should govern this country so let’s allow Ghanaians to vote without any issues so that whoever wins or loses will gladly accept the verdict.
“If she has nothing to hide why is she refusing that there should be a forensic audit of the voters register so that the elections will be conducted peacefully,” he stressed.
