Entertainment pundit and media personality, Nana Frimpong Zeiga has slammed Afrobeat musicians, Kuami Eugene and KiDi for their failure to promote Ghana via their attire during their London show.
Kuami Eugene and Kidi performed at O2 Indigo two weeks ago and their concert was a success as the event facility with a capacity og 2,800 was fully packed with music lovers and fans.
Even though Ghanaians praised the sold-out event, Nana Frimpong Zeiga feels they might have done better.
“We create history with this sort of show,” Nana Frimpong Zeiga stated of their performance. To me, making history with our creative skill and not selling Ghana is ordinary.”
The radio broadcaster stated their night’s attire was out of character for the Ghanaian culture.
“Even if they weren’t required, they could have marketed Ghana with their clothes. I object to their clothing code. Kidi, you can only wear this in Ghana. But they were dressed like westerners, and it was March 6th. In Ghanaian garb. That will not remove anything from them,” he grumbled.
The cantankerous presenter urged Ghanaians to remain patriotic.
“We should focus about what we can do for Ghana, not what Ghana can do for us. Osibisa and Asabeah Kropah have sold Ghana in larger auditoriums. He said, “They went and sold Kente to them.”
