Sista Afia, a Ghanaian artist, claims that the lack of industry support is keeping her from progressing further in her career.
She emphasized in an interview with 3Music TV that while the majority of her supporters are also her followers, the fact that some powerful business people frequently downplay her contributions to major events is a barrier to her professional growth.
“God is my witness, but I feel like I haven’t gotten as much help. I’ve completed my obligations as a solo artist. I track my music. In my home, there is a studio. Since JEJE, I’ve been recording my music, and I still do it today. I’m pleased doing what I’m doing, not because I want people to see what I’m doing. There hasn’t been much help for me.
The people who hold you and take you places love me more than the fans. At times, I too must take a back seat. I overhear conversations about me. When they ask me to appear on a show, I occasionally get comments like, “Why are you putting her on? Put this one instead.”
