Popular Ghanaian comedian Kalybos has said that his support for the ruling NPP was motivated by the benefits he would receive.
During the 2020 elections, a number of Ghanaian celebrities supported President Nana Addo. Celebrities include Agya Koo, Matilda Asante, Prince David Osei, Kalybos, Andy Dosty, Bibi Bright, and others all promoted the New Patriotic Party on their social media profiles.
Speaking with Giovanni Caleb on 3FM Drive in an exclusive interview, Kalybos revealed that even if the majority of the NPP’s introduced policies are no longer effective, he hasn’t regretted supporting the party“ I went ahead to campaign for the NPP Party because of certain policies that helped me. Let me just be selfish for once,” he started.
“ you will understand if you pay school fees. When I had not given birth to my child and was being bombarded with fees from innings every September, I thought Free SHS was my solution” said in twi.
“No, I was not paid. I was going in for the policies and it helped cos ever since that policy was implemented, now I could save money and enter it into different projects”
“ No regret,” he answered when Giovani asked and added that “ That’s the thing with me, I didn’t put any career on the line. As I said it was for a motive and that’s what I wanted to see flourish. It didn’t dent any of my works”.
