The Vice Presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party, (GFP) Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi known widely as Roman Fada, has confirmed the death of the flagbearer of the party, Madam Akua Donkor.
He said she became ill on Saturday and was taken to Nsawam Government Hospital for treatment before being released.
Nevertheless, she was swiftly taken to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, also known as the former Ridge Hospital, on Sunday. There, she passed away at 10 pm on Monday.
Maame Akua Donkor reportedly passed away at the age of 83 as stated by Roman Fada.
The Ghana Freedom Party is anticipated to issue a statement revealing her passing and their future plans.
Roman Fada, speaking to Onua TV in Accra, urged all political parties to guarantee a peaceful 2024 election.
“Let’s use the death of our mother to remind ourselves that we are one people and that we should ensure that we vote peacefully and have our country in one piece,” he said.
