President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled the first batch of ministerial nominees for his administration, fulfilling a key promise under his 120-day social contract with Ghanaians.
In line with Article 78 of the 1992 Constitution, Mahama announced Hon. Ato Forson as the Minister-designate for Finance, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor as the Minister-designate for Energy, and Hon. Dominic Akuritinga Ayini as the Attorney General and Minister for Justice.
This announcement comes within the pledged 14-day timeline for forming his cabinet after assuming office. The nominees will undergo vetting by Parliament’s Appointments Committee, chaired by Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, to ensure the government is set to tackle Ghana’s pressing challenges.
