An Adenta Circuit court has ordered Marwako Fast Food to pay damages in excess of GH¢1 million cedis to three of its customers for selling contaminated food.
Marwako’s woes started when customers took to Twitter to complain of food poisoning after eating there. Many consumers were hospitalized with many of the alleged victims referencing the eatery’s East Legon branch as the possible source of their discomfort.
The case which caught national attention in 2022 has been finalised after two years of a tussle. The court in its ruling found the fast food company sold contaminated food to its customers.
Food poisoning, is the result of eating contaminated, spoiled, or toxic food. The most common symptoms of food poisoning include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
