MURDER SUSPECT REMANDED AS COURT ADJOURNS KNUST MURDER CASE TO APRIL 1, 2025

Daniel Tuffour, a final-year student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), is currently facing legal issues. He has been held in custody by the court for the second time because he is suspected of being involved in the death of his girlfriend, Joana Deladem Yabani.

Joana was found dead on the KNUST campus on February 27, 2025. CCTV footage allegedly shows a man, who is believed to be Daniel Tuffour, strangling Joana after they had an argument.

Police arrested Daniel a few hours after the incident, and he was taken to court, where the decision was to keep him in custody.

At his second court appearance, the prosecutor explained that the case file was sent to the Attorney General’s office for further advice.

Due to this, the prosecutor requested that Daniel remain in custody, and the court agreed to this request.

The case is set to continue on April 1, 2025, by which time they expect to have guidance from the Attorney General on how to move forward.
