Former Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu is of the view that the President came to Parliament to launch the campaign of his Vice President.

He said the president did not tell the Ghanaian citizen the true state of the nation and how he has failed the country.

Haruna Iddrisu expected the president to apologize to the people of Ghana, whom he has failed for the past seven years.

“Was it the present State of the Nation address or campaign message for Dr Bawumia? I think that the President came to launch the campaign of his determined successor rather than deliver the State of the Nation address.

Our country is in peril, and Ghanaians are going through excruciating hardships. The president ought to have apologized to Ghanaians that I came seven years ago promising to redeem and end your suffering, but I have failed in ending that suffering, so therefore I’m sorry,” he said.

He added “And then conspicuously missing in the president’s speech was any agenda to combat corruption, and that is very disappointing. People are acquiring wealth that cannot be justified. You have seen them spend $12 million that cannot be on foiled AGYAPA. I’m sure he came to deliver the state of Bawumia wanting to be president”.
