Singer KK Fosu released a formal statement expressing regret for his emotional outburst on Hitz FM earlier today regarding the passing of John Claude and its associated matters.
In the statement, he acknowledged that his emotions overwhelmed him, leading to his inappropriate comments about the late John Claude and his family during the interview.
GhanaStreetJournal earlier today mentioned that KK Fosu went berserk during a recent radio interview on Hitz FM as he addressed the criticism he received for missing the funeral of publicist John Claude.
The seasoned Highlife artist acknowledged the negative feedback he and his colleague Bless have received for not paying their respects to the late Ghanaian blogger, who tragically lost his life while accompanying them to a wedding gig that ended in an accident on the Apam road.
During the interview with DJ Slim, KK Fosu emphasized that despite Claude’s passing, he still needs to work to provide for himself.
He explained that as a musician, his livelihood depends on music and performances, so he couldn’t afford to miss out on opportunities like the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, where he was invited to honour the legendary Amakye Dede as part of his Lifetime Achievement award.

“I want to take this opportunity to directly address the recent events and the public backlash regarding my absence from the funeral of the late Jean Claude Tamakloe, who tragically passed away in the recent Accra-Apam highway accident. First and foremost, I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
“This loss is deeply felt, and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time.
“Additionally, I want to clarify some misunderstandings that have arisen. My team intended to attend the one-week observation of the deceased. However, we learned that the family was unhappy with me because they believed their son was travelling with me at the time of the accident.
“Although we were in the same car, that was the first time I saw him or talked to him. This misinformation has caused further pain, and I regret any distress this has caused the family. Earlier today, I was interviewed by HITZ FM’s Deejay Slim, and during the interview, I became overwhelmed with emotions.
“I explained that my absence from the funeral was due to two main reasons: the deceased was not personally known to me, and I am still in the process of recuperating from the injuries I sustained in the accident. My caregivers have advised against travel and attending public gatherings as part of my recovery process.
“Unfortunately, my emotions got the better of me, leading to an outburst that I deeply regret. This outburst was fuelled by my feeling that people were not truly concerned about my state of health. I understand that my reaction was inappropriate, and I am sincerely sorry for any hurt or distress it caused.
“I am committed to reaching out personally to the family of the deceased to offer my condolences and support. I also urge the Ghana Police to expedite investigations into the unfortunate accident so all parties will be amicably appeased.
“I hope we can all find a way to heal and move forward together during this challenging time. Thank you for your understanding, support, and patience. K.K. Fosu.”
