It is claimed that individuals thought to be followers of the NDC opposition party attacked filmmaker Socrates Safo and Publisher/Newspaper editor Halifax Ansah-Addo with knives in Winneba, Central Region, Ghana.
Safo briefly stated on Facebook on Tuesday (1 October) that the vandals damaged their car.
“NDC supporters just attacked me and Ansah-Addo Halifax with knives and vandalised our car at Winneba for god knows what,” Safo posted on Facebook.
The report indicates that the two individuals were travelling to Winneba for a task when the incident happened.
Socrate Safo has confirmed the incident in an exclusive interview with Nkonkonsa.com explaining that NDC supporters organised a protest against the Electoral Commission and Afenyo–Markin NPP Member of the Parliament of Ghana for the Effutu constituency, Central Region was also holding a health walk on the same day, Tuesday October 1, 2014 at Winneba. .
Filmmaker Socrate Safo who is a known NPP supporter and media Personality Halifax Ansah Addo were part of NPP MP Afenyo-Markin’s walk and they were allegedly attacked by some NDC supporter as a result of misunderstanding between the police and NDC supporters.
Narrating the incident, Socrate revealed that some men dressed in NDC colors appeared in front of their car out of nowhere brandishing knives and throwing stones at their car. “They destroyed the car tires and the front of the car and run off”, Socrate stated.
Asked how he concluded that the people who attacked them are indeed supporters of NDC, he said they were wearing NDC colors and holding NDC flags, adding that they have videos to prove his claim.
