Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, has urged Ghanaians to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming December 7 elections.
While addressing an event, the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cautioned that if the NDC regains power, it may result in a rise of “sakawa” activities, deceitful practices frequently linked to ritualistic behaviors.
Speaking to a group of nursing trainees, NAPO, who is also a Member of Parliament, asserted that the NPP government had effectively reduced such incidents.
“All John Mahama and the NDC know is sakawa. These cases always increase under their leadership. Have you heard much about sakawa since the NPP took over? If you make the mistake of voting them back into power, sakawa will rise again, and lives will be at risk,” he said.
He also comforted the trainees by stating that the NPP would maintain its focus on their well-being, especially via the allowance system, while generating overseas job opportunities.
“In our new manifesto, we’ve pledged to continue paying allowances. Beyond that, we plan to facilitate job placements for nurses and teachers in countries like Canada. Even if local opportunities are limited, we’ll ensure you have options abroad,” NAPO added.
With election day nearing, the political climate grows more intense, as both parties amplify their efforts to attract voters.
