NOTHING HAS CHANGED AFTER NDC’s #MARCH FOR JUSTICE’ DEMONSTRATION – DKB

Controversial Ghanaian comedian and event host, Derick Kobina Boney has reacted to the ‘March For Justice demonstration members and supporters of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) held today on the streets of Accra.

There have been growing concerns about the use of the military for civil events that ordinarily should be handled by the police and on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, to demand justice for all persons killed or brutalized by various security agencies in the country.

The incidents that have angered many include the killing of some Ghanaians during the 2020 election, the invasion of Parliament by soldiers, the latest killing of two persons, and the injuring of four others who were protesting at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

The NDC’s National Youth Organiser, George Opare Addo, stated that the march is also to call on the government to fix several issues arising in the country.

“We intend to demonstrate and tell this government about our misgivings about happenings in this country. It is going to be a very peaceful march. We are marching for justice for our fallen brothers and sisters, to tell this government to fix the country, and create enough jobs for young people. We want the culture of silence to be broken and insecurity within the country tackled.”

Sharing his thoughts on the demonstration, DKB said the police and the Akufo Addo led government should have allowed the demonstration to have happened long time ago when some citizens including the NDC youth wing wanted to embark on the demonstration because the demonstration had no impact on the country.

According to him, as far as the attitude of people and the state of governance and economy is concerned, nothing has changed even after the demonstration and it will remain like this.
