QUALIFYING FOR THE WORLD IS OUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT – FA Prez. Kurt Okraku

Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), claims that the World Cup qualification is the Football Association’s (FA) biggest accomplishment.

The FA’s president asserts that, despite the association’s other modest accomplishments, he considers the association’s ability to qualify for the FIFA World Cup to be its greatest success.

Ghana has qualified to represent the country at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November 2022. Ghana has qualified to other three straight world cup tournaments in 2006, 2010, and 2014.

Speaking at the Ghana Football Association Congress on Tuesday, Okraku said the biggest achievement of any FA is ensuring its national team qualifies for the World Cup.

“This is the biggest achievement any member association can talk about. You can qualify for the u15, u17, u23, and the women but if you are absent at the Mundial believe me, you are nothing,” he stated.

“We shouldn’t take it for granted that we’ve qualified because this marks the beginning of a new era for Ghanaian football.

“When you qualify for the world cup, you are treated differently, for my colleagues who have been to Qatar, you’ve had a feel of it and you belong to the big boys.”
