ROMAN FATHER ENDORSES NDC AMID DISQUALIFICATION, URGES GHANAIANS TO ‘VOTE WISELY’

Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) flagbearer Phillip Kwabena Agyeman, popularly known as Roman Father, has endorsed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the December 7 general elections, following his recent disqualification from the presidential race. Roman Father, who has been vocal about his vision for Ghana, took to social media to address supporters and express his gratitude amid the unfolding political drama.

In a video seen by NKONKONSA.com, Roman Father addressed his supporters with a calm demeanor, stating, “Whatever you’re hearing in the air, all I can say is it is well.” Despite the Electoral Commission’s decision to disqualify him over alleged errors in his nomination forms, he remained optimistic, urging Ghanaians to still participate actively in the democratic process. “On the 7th of December, when you’re going to vote, there are four pieces [referring to the voting ballot] so I urge Ghanaians to vote for them. However, when it comes to the presidential, it is ’24 E,’ so vote wisely,” he added, subtly hinting his support for the NDC candidate, whose campaign is marked as “24 E” policy.

This endorsement comes as a surprise to many, considering Roman Father’s dedication to the Ghana Freedom Party’s values. Nonetheless, he assured his followers that he remains focused on promoting unity and peace. Reflecting on his disqualification, Roman Father conveyed a sense of acceptance, humorously adding, “For me, I am enjoying my fufu. Disqualification or no disqualification.” He thanked his supporters, including the GFP’s general secretary and other stakeholders, for their unwavering support, emphasizing the party’s commitment to love and unity despite the setback.

Background: Disqualification from the 2024 Presidential Race

Roman Father’s endorsement comes shortly after the Electoral Commission (EC) announced his disqualification from the 2024 presidential race. His disqualification was reportedly due to errors in his nomination forms, which the EC deemed sufficient to bar him from contesting. This decision stirred a wave of reactions from his supporters, many of whom had hoped he would bring an unconventional approach to Ghanaian politics. Roman Father, known for his charismatic and sometimes controversial public appearances, has built a reputation as a symbol of change, especially among youth who feel disconnected from the traditional political landscape.

While the GFP’s disqualification from the presidential race is a setback for the party, Roman Father’s endorsement of the NDC has the potential to influence a segment of the electorate. His message to “vote wisely” and his decision to stand behind a major political force demonstrate his desire to remain relevant and impactful in shaping the nation’s future, even if from the sidelines.

As Ghanaians prepare to cast their votes, Roman Father’s endorsement of the NDC adds a new layer to an already dynamic election season. His call for unity and responsible voting underscores the importance of active participation in democracy, and his message to supporters suggests that his political journey may be far from over, regardless of the challenges he faces.

What’s Next for Roman Father?

With his presidential dreams on hold, it remains to be seen what Roman Father’s next steps will be in Ghanaian politics. His endorsement of the NDC might signal a future collaboration or an alliance in pursuit of his political ideals. His message to his followers, rooted in love, unity, and resilience, reflects his resolve to stay connected with his base and perhaps regroup for future endeavors.

As Ghana heads to the polls, Roman Father’s endorsement may resonate with some voters, particularly those who share his vision of a united Ghana. Whether his support for the NDC will significantly impact the election remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: Roman Father has solidified his place in the hearts of his followers, promising to continue his advocacy for Ghana’s progress, disqualification or not.
