SARKODIE’S TEAM DENIES PULLING OUT OF ECOBANK LAWSUIT, WARNS MEDIA AGAINST FALSE REPORTS

Renowned Ghanaian musician Michael Owusu Addo, professionally known as Sarkodie, and his legal representatives have categorically denied reports suggesting the withdrawal of ongoing lawsuit proceedings against Ecobank Ghana Limited.
In an official statement, Sarkodie’s legal team, the Robeth Smith Law Group, dismissed the claims as “baseless, malicious, and a deliberate attack on their client’s integrity.”
They further cautioned media outlets against disseminating unverified information, warning that such “prejudicial publications” could result in legal consequences.
The legal disput stems from allegations that Ecobank Ghana featured an individual bearing a striking resemblance to Sarkodie in an advertising campaign—without the artist’s prior consent.
The rapper contends that this unauthorised use of his likeness constitutes a violation of his intellectual property rights and has caused both reputational harm and financial losses.
