SDK ACCUSES KIDI OF ‘STEALING’ HIS CONCEPT
Content creator claims music star replicated outfit, background and styling in new video

Ghanaian content creator SDK has publicly accused award-winning musician KiDi of copying his creative concept for a recent music video.
In a video circulating online, SDK expressed disappointment, alleging that the singer replicated his idea “ditto ditto” including styling, clothing, shoes, belt and even the background setting.
“I know we are in the era of stealing ideas and it’s so sad when big artists actually steal your idea,” SDK said. “I did a video last two weeks and this big artist stole the idea and everything in it.”
He went on to compare visuals from KiDi’s latest music video with a clip he claims to have produced weeks earlier, insisting the similarities are too striking to be coincidental.
According to SDK, the resemblance extends beyond wardrobe choices to the overall aesthetic and presentation.
In the footage he shared, he juxtaposed segments of his own video with scenes from KiDi’s project, encouraging viewers to judge for themselves.
As of the time of this report, KiDi has not publicly responded to the allegations.
The claims have since sparked debate on social media, with some users suggesting the similarities could be coincidental or inspired by broader fashion and visual trends, while others believe the matter deserves clarification.
The controversy adds to ongoing conversations within Ghana’s creative industry about originality, inspiration and intellectual property rights.
