SHATTA WALE RENDERS APOLOGY FOR FLOUTING NIGERIA’S EFCC NAIRA MUTILATION LAW

Ghanaian social media personality Firdaus Iddrisu, better known as Shatta Bandle, has apologized to the Nigerian public and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following an incident where he was seen spraying Naira notes in Lagos.

Shatta Bandle was seen throwing Naira notes in a viral video while he was in Nigeria for Mr. Ibu’s funeral on June 28.

Nigeria enforces stringent laws that forbid the misuse of its currency. Shatta Bandle’s performance is receiving much attention in light of Nigeria’s strict regulations.

Earlier this year, the EFCC arrested Nigerian celebrity Bobrisky for throwing money at a movie premiere, alleging him of mutilating and abusing currency in a similar case.

Shatta Bandle has shown regret for his behavior and explained that he did not intend to break any laws in Nigeria.

He mentioned that he began by dispersing dollars, however, switched to naira once the dollars were depleted, resulting in the infringement.

He commented that he holds EFCC and Nigerian laws in high regard, calling Nigeria his future residence.

“I apologise to you people; I didn’t come to break laws because Nigeria is my next home. I apologise to everybody especially EFCC to forgive me for what I have done,” he said.
