SWEDRU SCHOOL OF BUSINESS APOLOGISES OVER VIRAL ASSAULT VIDEO INVOLVING THEIR STUDENTS

Swedru School of Business (SWEBUS) has issued an unqualified apology following a viral video showing an assault involving some of its students and a student from Obrachire Senior High School.
In a statement released Wednesday, the Management, Staff and Students of the school said they were addressing the public over “the recent incident captured in a video circulating on social media, which shows an assault involving some of our students and a student from our sister school, Obrachire Senior High School.”
The school described the incident as deeply troubling.
“We are deeply disturbed by this unfortunate incident,” the statement said.
Management stressed that the behaviour seen in the footage does not represent the institution’s standards.
“The conduct displayed in the video is unacceptable and does not reflect the values, principles, and standards of discipline upheld by Swedru School of Business.”
It added that the act is “contrary to the school’s Code of Conduct as well as the regulations of the Ghana Education Service (GES).”
The school strongly condemned the incident and distanced itself from any form of violence.
“As an institution committed to academic excellence, character formation, and responsible citizenship, we strongly condemn this act,” the statement noted.
