Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) General Secretary, has urged President Akufo Addo to change the living conditions of Ghanaians following the passing of the E-Levy.
He said the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has long stated that the e-levy is the cure to Ghana’s woes, thus Ghanaians would have to wait.
“The entire process has been flipped upside down,” he told TV3’s Roland Walker after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo gave the 2022 State of the Nation Address (SONA) on March 30. We have a president who claims to believe in the rule of law while pushing his followers to break the law.
“I wasn’t in Parliament yesterday, but I observed misuse of all House procedures. Technically, I don’t think the correct processes were followed in the approval, but there is a notion that an erroneous judgment remains a decision until it is rectified. We’ll go back to the drawing board and see if we can keep fighting the E-levy.
