THERE WILL BE ONE MILLION MORE WOMEN THAN MEN IN GHANA BY 2050 – Ghana Statistical Service Predicts

The Ghana Statistical Service has predicted that there will be notable population growth changes expected in the country by 2050.

It is estimated that the population of Ghana will rise from 30.83 million in 2021 to 37.24 million in 2030 and 52.47 million in 2050.

The estimated population in 2024 is predicted to be 33,007,618, a 1.07 increase from 2021’s population of 30,832,019.

Currently, the population of Ghana has exceeded 33 million, making this expected increase a major milestone.

After the census conducted in 2021, Ghana’s population is now at 30.8 million.

By 2050, it is predicted that the nation will have an excess of one million women compared to men.

This expected change in population demographics has significant effects on different areas of Ghanaian society, including the economy, healthcare, social organization, and gender relations.

The Statistical Service anticipates an increase of 711,706 people every year from 2021 to 2030, estimating the population to hit 37.24 million by the conclusion of the decade.

The forecast of Ghana having one million more women than men by 2050 is a wake-up call for policymakers, businesses, and society as a whole.

This change in population poses challenges and opportunities that need to be tackled for a balanced and prosperous future.

By prioritizing gender equality, enhancing healthcare, and supporting women’s economic empowerment, Ghana has the potential to transform this predicted gap into a catalyst for positive transformation and lasting progress.
