Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the spokesperson for the John Mahama Campaign Team, reiterated her stance that a pre-election debate between the NDC flagbearer and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, is unnecessary.
Despite calls from political analysts and stakeholders, Bawah Mogtari dismissed the idea of a debate between the two primary contenders.
On Saturday, July 13, Bawah Mogtari posted on X (formerly Twitter) that there is no longer any need for a debate, pointing to the country’s economic challenges. She encouraged voters to make informed decisions in the 2024 elections.
“My Dear Brothers and Sisters, what really is there to debate about, there is absolutely nothing left to debate. The economy has crashed and the country broke. “We dey for gutter inside”. A steering wheel without a car can’t get anyone anywhere. Let’s vote wisely, choose experience.”
In an earlier interview on The Point of View on Channel One TV, Bawah Mogtari expressed her reservations about a debate between the two main candidates.
While acknowledging Mahama’s energy and extensive knowledge, she was hesitant to accept a debate invitation.
