Social media sensation Khaby Lame, renowned for his viral comedy videos, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on June 6, 2025, at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to ICE, Lame, an Italian citizen, was taken into custody for overstaying his visa after entering the United States on April 30. The agency confirmed he was granted voluntary departure on the same day and has since left the country.
The detention gained public attention after political activist Bo Loudon claimed on the social media platform X that he played a role in alerting authorities about Lame’s immigration status. Loudon referred to Lame as an “illegal alien” and alleged he collaborated with officials at the Department of Homeland Security under former President Donald Trump.
