CASTRO IS ALIVE AND LIVING IN ANOTHER COUNTRY – Musician RamzyB Claims
A decade after the mysterious disappearance of hiplife artiste Castro, musician Aya RamzyB has reignited speculation about the singer’s fate, boldly declaring that he believes Castro is still alive and living in a different country. Speaking in an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, the Takoradi-based artist dismissed the notion that Castro is dead, despite the singer being legally declared deceased under Ghana’s Evidence Act, 1975.
“Castro dey! ‘Rest in Peace to Castro’ should be erased! He’s still where he is, Castro is there. If you haven’t seen him, don’t say something has happened to him,” RamzyB passionately stated. He further emphasized his conviction, saying, “I, RamzyB, know and believe Castro is alive, and he will come out. I believe he’s in a different country, and he’s alive.”
Castro, whose real name is Theophilus Tagoe, and his friend Janet Bandu were reported missing on July 6, 2014, after a jet ski accident in the Ada Estuary while on holiday with former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and his brother Baffour Gyan. Although the jet ski involved in the accident was recovered the same day, neither Castro’s nor Bandu’s bodies were ever found, despite extensive search efforts by the police.
Under Ghanaian law, a person can be declared dead if they remain missing for seven years. However, RamzyB’s comments reflect the lingering doubts and conspiracy theories that have surrounded Castro’s disappearance. He is not alone in his belief—Castro’s father and other supporters have also maintained that the “Toffee” hitmaker is still alive.
RamzyB’s assertion has sparked renewed debate among fans and the public, with some holding onto hope for Castro’s return while others accept the legal declaration of his death. As the mystery continues, the story of Castro’s disappearance remains one of Ghana’s most intriguing and unresolved entertainment sagas.
