“UNDER YOUR EYES, WHAT BELONGS TO YOU WILL BE SNATCHED AWAY” – Delay Reacts to King Paluta’s ‘Makoma’ TGMA Snub

Renowned media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, has added her voice to the controversy surrounding the exclusion of King Paluta’s hit song ‘Makoma’ from the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) page on Tuesday, March 18, Delay expressed her disappointment, stating:

“How King Paluta’s ‘Makoma’ wasn’t nominated is why I keep praying without ceasing. Under your very eyes, what belongs to you will be snatched away if you cease praying.”

Her reaction mirrors the sentiments of many fans who are outraged over the song’s exclusion. Many believe ‘Makoma’ was one of the biggest records of the year under review and deserved a spot in multiple categories.

The song, which received massive airplay and dominated charts, was reportedly submitted for consideration in four key categories:

  • Most Popular Song of the Year
  • Record of the Year
  • Hiplife Song of the Year
  • Songwriter of the Year

However, none of the submissions made the final list, leaving fans and industry watchers questioning the credibility of the award scheme.

King Paluta and his team have since taken to social media with a petition demanding an explanation for the exclusion. In the petition, they argue that ‘Makoma’ not only met all the ethical and moral standards required for the awards but was also a fan-favorite, making its absence from the nominations questionable.
