WE APPEAR TO BE ON GOOD TERMS OUTWARDLY – Clemento Suarez Speaks On Enmity In Comedy Industry

Actor and comedian Clemento Suarez has made comments on the amount of alliances within the Ghanaian comedy industry.

The majority of them, he claimed, are envious of one another despite outward appearances to the contrary.

These remarks were made by the comedian during a discussion on Tuesday’s episode of Prime Morning.

Even though he suspects there may be animosity, he is not particularly concerned because it advances the industry.

“On the facial it looks good, but I don’t really care. If that’s what will put the industry forward, we should just do that. If we’re fighting inside but we don’t bring it out, it’s good,” he said.

He continued by saying that comedians are free to make jokes about people’s private life as long as they are made solely for amusement.

Asked whether he has ever been scared for his life after joking about someone’s issue, he said, “Not really.”

Yet, he believed that in order to avoid controversy, comedians should be wise and considerate when discussing other people’s personal difficulties.

Clemento Suarez claimed that while humor used to be generated in stories in comparison to more recent generations, it is now more of a stage performance and instant occurring.

“At that time, they created jokes like they were telling stories, but now ours is more situational stuff. We use what is happening to create the jokes.”

He responded “yes” when asked if the industry is profitable, but added that in order to take advantage of the profitability, both the brand and the individual must be creative and original.
