Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has strongly stated his disapproval of LGBTQ+ activities in Ghana.
Dr. Bawumia made this declaration at a meeting with some groups during his campaign and he emphasized that the Islamic faith and other religions in Ghana are against such activities
Being a committed Muslim, he made it known that he does not endorse or approve of LGBTQ practices.
According to him, there will not be space in his presidency or under his watch where same-sex marriage will be practiced.
The Vice President’s comments were in response to requests from different groups, especially within specific Muslim communities in the country, asking him to explain his stance on the LGBT issue.
