Facemasks are no longer necessary as of tomorrow, Monday, March 28th, according to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-28th Addo’s Covid update.
“I urge you all to maintain increased hand hygiene and avoid overcrowded gatherings,” he said.
On-site activities such as conferences, seminars, private parties and events may continue at full capacity as long as the audience and/or participants are completely vaccinated.
Hand washing and hand sanitizing stations should be provided.
Outdoor gatherings such as athletic events, concerts, political rallies, and funerals may continue at full capacity if all attendees are completely vaccinated.
“Beginning Monday, March 28th, fully vaccinated travelers visiting Ghana will not be required to perform PCR tests in order to enter via the KIA.
“Citizens and foreign residents of Ghana who are not completely vaccinated must produce a negative PCR test result within 48 hours of arrival at KIA, where they will be provided inoculation.
“It is worth mentioning that Frontier Healthcare Services Ltd’s deployment of the COVID-19 testing equipment at the Kotoka International Airport has been important to our capacity to effectively restrict viral importation into Ghana via the airport.
All individuals who have been tested at KIA have praised the effectiveness of the testing program. It was one of the reasons why Ghana escaped various travel restrictions enforced by the West during the epidemic that hit several African nations.
“All land and sea borders will open tomorrow, Monday, March 28th. Visitors who are fully vaccinated will be granted admission across land and marine borders with no negative PCR test results. Non-vaccinated Ghanaians and foreigners will need to provide a negative 48-hour PCR test result or be given vaccination upon arrival.
