Ghanaian Entrepreneur and CEO of the McDan Group, Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan has emphasized the importance of young adults accepting any job that enables them to sustain themselves, irrespective of societal perceptions.
McDan emphasized in a compelling post on social media that it is acceptable to pursue unconventional jobs in order to establish a secure future. He advised young individuals that despite being criticized for their work, these opinions will not provide solutions or meet their needs.
“Work is work, it doesn’t have to be glamorous. Don’t be embarrassed by the work you do. If it puts food in the fridge, a roof over your head, and helps you take care of yourself and your family, then embrace it. People’s judgement won’t take care of you, and neither will their praise,” he wrote.
The experienced entrepreneur reiterated that prioritizing survival and personal development is more important than how society perceives you.
He added, “As a young adult, there’s no shame in doing odd jobs to fix your life. People will talk, but no one will save you.”
McDan’s guidance is a timely reminder to value self-reliance and hard work more than the judgments of others.
