Whitney Boakye-Mensah slammed Sista Afia for dropping a diss track towards Efia Odo during their feud.
While on UTV’s United Showbiz, the entertainment critic voiced her objection to the derogatory content in the song aimed at Efia Odo, calling it old-fashioned and offensive.
Whitney emphasized the historical background of women being singled out by men with comparable disrespectful strategies, stressing her worry about a woman engaging in the same conduct towards another woman.
She strongly declared that men often use slut-shaming as a weapon against women, and women should not support or continue this practice.
According to her opinion, Sista Afia’s diss track, which focuses on slut-shaming Efia Odo, is seen as both immature and regressive in the way disputes are addressed.
She explained, “To get women go into the gutters about beautiful face, their sex organs and all that… haven’t men done that enough already to us women?
“Why should the first point of call for a woman to another woman in a beef song be to slut shame her? The moment you go on that tangent you’ve lost.”
Whitney Boakye-Mensah thinks that Sista Afia failed to highlight her achievements in the music industry and beyond in her song.
She said, “What I was expecting from Sista Afia, such an intelligent and beautiful girl was to actually do a diss song listing her achievements toe-to-toe and dare Efia Odo to do same.
“This style of beef where you expose who your opponent has had sexual relations with is so old, it’s so childish and it’s so cheap.
“Even more important is how this type of song fuels already established perceptions that women in the music and entertainment industry sleep their way to the top.”
