4 GHANAIAN STUDENTS DISMISSED FROM LEHIGH UNIVERSITY IN PENNSYLVANIA

Following their expulsion by the university, four Ghanaian students at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, USA, were taken into custody by the Northampton County Corrections Department.

They are accused of obtaining false documents, stealing services, and uttering counterfeit documents.

The students—named Otis Opoku, Evans Oppong, Henry Dabuo, and Cyrilstan Nomobon Sowah-Nai—appeared before the Magisterial District Court on September 9, 2024, when they were officially indicted.

They have no legal counsel as of Monday, but they are presently awaiting their preliminary hearings, which are set for September 24.

Friends of the students have responded by creating a GoFundMe page, which has been circulated on social media to gather support for the four people.

An Instagram user identified as @angelsgramm who seems to have intel on the case took to the comment section of the report by @kssnewsglobal on Instagram and shared more insights and he wrote;

“They forged transcripts which led them to receive over $200k in scholarships. The admissions team looked at one persons transcript and noticed some discrepancies which prompted him to call their school for original transcripts. They noticed discrepancies and then looked into the others associated with him. So they charged them all with forgery”
