Award-winning Ghanaian Dancehall and Reggae musician, Stonebwoy has once again proven himself as a pioneer in Ghana’s music scene. In an interview on 3Music TV, he discussed his accomplishment of surpassing the Accra Sports Stadium’s 40,000 capacity by hosting over 55,000 fans at his self-funded BHIM Festival in 2023.
Stonebwoy stated that the groundbreaking show, showcasing top artists from Ghana and the Caribbean, was funded solely by him, with no external sponsorship.
“No artiste in my class has ever filled the Accra Sports Stadium like I did,” he said proudly, describing the event as a testament to his influence and dedication to the craft.
The singer of the popular song ‘Jejereje’ took the opportunity to discuss his belief that his innovative work in the field is not being acknowledged.
“Some of us don’t like to talk, but it’s important to set the record straight. We’ve left the stage for others to act like they are leading the industry, but the facts speak for themselves,” he remarked, speaking passionately about his sacrifices and achievements.
Stonebwoy also expressed satisfaction in funding the BHIM Festival himself, highlighting the effort and dedication that contributed to the event’s success.
