A man has called out the Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu to express his disappointment about the lack of development in Tamale South.
The man pointed out that even though Haruna Iddrisu has served as the Member of Parliament for Tamale South for 25 years, the community still struggles with basic needs, like access to clean water. Residents have to share their water sources with animals, such as cows, dogs, and goats.
He also observed that while many people regard Haruna Iddrisu with great respect, treating him almost like a deity, he hasn’t done much to improve their living conditions.
Speaking in a self-recorded video, the man lamented saying, “He has been in power for almost 25 good years but let me take you to his constituency, Tamale South, look at the kind of water his people are drinking, his people are competing with animals, they are competing with cows, dogs and goats.
Haruna Iddrisu your people are competing with animals for good water, Haruna Idrrisu minister of education look at what is going on in your constituency are you happy with this?” he asked.
He further emphasised, “Some people will come and defend you here, will they come and defend you for this oh my God, I don’t blame you because your people see you as their God. They see you as their God but you are not doing anything. Don’t deny your people good water”.
A netizen who posted the video also stated, “NDC dominance in less developed regions needs proper analysis. Why do individuals who are mostly poor show so much interest in NDC?
Minister for Education, Haruna Idrisu constituency is one of the poorest but always maintains over 80% vote for the NDC.”
Some other Ghanaians in the comment section of the video stated, “This has always been my point. Come to Volta region and you will cry for them. They are one of the under developed regions, talk about Ablakwa’s constituency, Akatsi North, etc. You will cry for them when you go to these places”.
“Volta is one of the poorest regions of Ghana. GSS stats indicate that and I find it hard why they are so stuck with NDC. Amewu development in Hohoe was unimaginable but they still voted against him”, another stated.
Additionally another social media user stated, “U pple talk as if all of us are not in Ghana. Go n check the so-called strong hold of the Npp n see how that place is. It took a king to seek funds to renovate their only referral hospital. Remove the log from ur eyes b4 removing the speck from ur brother’s”.
