Chris Hughton, a technical adviser for Ghana, has submitted an application to lead the Black Stars as their next head coach.
When Otto Addo was the team’s manager at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the 64-year-old was a member of the technical staff for Ghana.
Hughton has been mentioned frequently in relation to the Black Stars position, which is now open as a result of Addo’s decision to retire after the World Cup.
Chris Hughton previously worked for Tottenham under a variety of coaches while juggling his duties as an assistant coach for the Republic of Ireland.
He was appointed as Newcastle United’s first-team coach by Kevin Keegan in 2008. He was appointed interim manager in September of that year after Keegan left.
Hughton has since managed Birmingham City, Norwich City, Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest, in what has been a great managerial career thus far.
