Reggae and Dancehall singer, Stonebwoy has strengthened his ongoing rivalry with Shatta Wale, offering a harsh critique of his peer’s forthcoming performance at the eagerly awaited Freedom Street Concert in Jamaica.
In an interview on Angel FM with Ike De Unpredictable, the Bhim Nation leader downplayed the importance of Shatta Wale’s participation, characterizing it as a trivial accomplishment.
“I’ve been to Jamaica several times for major concerts,” “This isn’t groundbreaking—being a warm-up act doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things.” Stonebwoy asserted.
The Freedom Street Concert, held in tribute to Vybz Kartel, boasts a prominent roster, featuring global stars such as Busta Rhymes, Popcaan, Skillibeng, and Spice.
Shatta Wale, who claims to be a follower of Vybz Kartel, is notable as the sole Ghanaian musician invited to the distinguished event.
Although many celebrate Shatta Wale’s addition as a victory for Ghana’s music industry, Stonebwoy swiftly highlighted his own role in connecting Ghana and Jamaica via music.
“I’ve brought some of the biggest names from Jamaica to Ghana for collaborations and events,” he said. “That’s a testament to my influence and impact in the industry.”
“He’s going to be a curtain raiser for the show, nothing else,” Stonebwoy stated.
