The referee who made all the headlines for the wrong reasons when he awarded a controversial penalty to Kumasi Asante Kotoko against arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak during their recent clash in the premier league has spoken for the first time after the game.
Joseph Kenny Padi angered the Phobians and other neutrals of the game when his decision gave the Porcupine Warriors the bragging right at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium a few days ago when he gave Kotoko a penalty in the first half, which Franck Mbella Etouga converted beautifully.
Speaking about the issue for the first time on Wenchi-based Ewiase FM, the centre referee said he has not been able to have an erection since the game.
“I have not had an erection since the day I granted the punishment against Accra Hearts of Oaks. Now and again I get weird and terrible bad dreams, I can’t rest”, he expressed
Meanwhile, Kenny Padi has been suspended for the rest of the league season after the Match Review Panel of the Ghana Football Association ruled that he erred in awarding the penalty to Asante Kotoko in their Ghana Premier League Matchweek 24 game against Hearts of Oak.
