Ghanaian actress and musician, Adomaa, also known as Joy Onyinyechukwu Adomaa Serwaa Adjeman, has expressed her desire to be cremated after her death.
Her decision is influenced by the rising costs of graves and the belief that her remains can contribute to the environment.
Adomaa suggests that her ashes could be used as manure for a tree, emphasizing the environmental benefit over traditional burial practices.
“Honestly, I do not want to be buried in this way. Give my useful organs and parts to people who need them, then plant a seed with the rest of me (cremated or any inexpensive way) and let me exist as a tree.
Y’all can have a picnic, play music, laugh and dance under the shade. I’d like that very much,” she said.
