In a recent heartbreaking interview, Ghanaian actress and TV star Xandy Kamel talked about the untimely death of her daughter and the ensuing dissolution of her marriage.
She explained on United Showbiz that after her husband passed away, she didn’t rant on social media about their broken marriage but rather about all the other things that had made her heart heavy and rendered her incapable of coping, like losing her daughter who had just passed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E.).
Just two days after losing her daughter, according to Xandy, her marriage broke down. She learned that her husband had cheated on her and was not interested in helping her get through the terrible period of their daughter’s death.
“Two days after my marriage loss, my first child, who had just finished writing B.E.C.E. and was waiting for her results, died after drowning, and then I catch my husband… hmm, it wasn’t easy,” she said.
Xandy claimed she requested her husband to go with her to the police station with her so she could make a report in an effort to seek retribution for the loss of her daughter.
He declined, though, and even skipped their daughter’s funeral. Xandy was thus left to deal with the upsetting situation by herself.
“I told my husband that since he’s the only man in my family, he should accompany me to the police station to file a police case, but my husband told me he won’t go. He also didn’t go with me to the funeral,” she lamented.
Despite the excruciating pain she has endured, Xandy noted that she has come under attack and been body shamed online by random people.
She voiced her anger at individuals who choose to criticize her without taking into account the difficulties she has encountered.
“Do you know what I have been through and you sit on social media and write garbage about me? God will punish all of them, and I pray that everybody who has either body-shamed me or insulted me, or anything rubbish about me because of a failed marriage, the person should taste a little bit of the pain I am going through and know that God loves me for being alive,” she expressed.
