PROPHET FIRE OJA ARRESTED
Controversial preacher detained over defamatory claims about musician Mzbel; pleads guilty and apologizes, faces court.

Controversial Ghanaian prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as Fire Oja, has been arrested by police following a formal complaint by musician Mzbel over alleged defamatory statements about her health and character.
The leader of Zion Prayer Ministries International was taken into custody on January 5, 2026, after Mzbel reported a viral social media video in which Fire Oja claimed the singer was “seriously ill” and hospitalized in Kasoa, later alleging she had engaged in “soul travel” after recovery.
In the video, Fire Oja dared Mzbel to publicly deny his claims, stating: “I dare Mzbel to come out and deny it if I am telling lies. I have evidence of everything I am saying right now.”
Mzbel confirmed the arrest via Instagram, revealing that the prophet has pleaded guilty to all charges and apologized to her. However, she added that he is currently being prepared for court proceedings despite the apology.
The arrest highlights ongoing tensions between certain religious figures and public personalities in Ghana, and underscores the legal consequences of making defamatory statements against individuals.
