Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale openly criticized Sarkodie’s career decisions in a recent episode of Rants, Bants, and Confessions on Glitch Africa.
Shatta criticized Sarkodie’s extravagant spending on music videos, deeming it an unnecessary investment. He wondered why he hadn’t achieved the same level of success as Burna Boy, Wizkid, or Davido.
Shatta believes it would have been wiser to invest all that money in real estate and fueling stations rather than in flashy visuals, which he thinks have not significantly improved Sarkodie’s international career.
Shatta was straightforward, stating that Sarkodie’s humility and willingness to be used by industry players in Ghana are hindering him from achieving the global success he deserves.
“He’s making these high-budget videos, but he’s still not there,” Shatta remarked, hinting that Sarkodie should be performing alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid by now.
Some fans believe Sarkodie’s investments have not brought him the fame he deserves, while others argue that his emphasis on creating high-quality music videos demonstrates his dedication to his craft.
With the argument escalating, supporters are questioning whether Sarkodie will retaliate against Shatta’s harsh comments.
