Musician, Nii Funny, gave a humorous explanation as to why he chose not to wed a member of his Ga tribe.
The comment made by Nii Funny regarding the reasons he did not wed any of his Ga women has sparked a lot of discussion, especially among those from the Ga community.
In an interview with Ansah-Addo Halifax on Okay FM’s entertainment, Nii Funny explained why he dropped his hit song “Broken Heart” in 2016 and why he never wed a member of his own Ga tribe, choosing to wed an American instead.
He claimed that he did not wed a Ga woman due of his negative interactions with them. According to him, Ga women enjoy asking for help.
He said that Ga women like begging. As explained by Nii Funny, once a man marries a Ga woman, her family (mother, brother, father, and sisters) treats him as an ATM card.
“The girls in my Ga town don’t like. They’re afraid of I also don’t like some o their characters. These ladies like to beg a lot. Any small opportunity, they’ll ask you for money”.
“When you query them on what they need the money for they say they are going to buy funeral cloth and sow for late uncle’s fathers’ stepbrother’s funeral. And finally, a few of them don’t like to work. They are lazy”,
