BLACK STARS WILL RETURN TO GHANA IN DECEMBER AS WORLD CHAMPIONS – Sports Minister

Mustapha Ussif, the minister of youth and sports, has boldly predicted that the Black Stars will return to Ghana in December as world champions.

On Saturday, the minister made this statement as the Coca-Cola World Cup trophy was touring Ghana. This occurred as the trophy touched down at Kotoka International Airport.

Ussif made sure to emphasize Luis Suarez’s goal-line clearance that prevented Ghana from earning a record semifinal appearance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

“In November/December, it [the World Cup trophy] will come back here with Ghana as champions of the world, Ussif said.

“It is possible. We saw what happened in South Africa. But for the hand of that Suarez, Ghana would have been to the semifinal and would have come home with the trophy.

“This is the time for Ghana to show to the rest of the world we are capable of bringing this trophy to Africa, In Sha Allah [if God wills].”

Mustapha Ussif continued, “Meeting French icon David Trezeguet and seeing the World Cup trophy is an unique emotion.”

Before this year’s tournament in Qatar, Trezeguet is in charge of the trophy tour, which includes all 32 qualified teams.
