Popular rapper and singer, Yaw Tog has stated that, despite his success in the music industry, he still does not consider himself to be a celebrity.
Yaw Tog became a household name after he came out with a song with his music group Asakaa. He is best known for his viral song ‘Sore’ which featured O`Kenneth, City Boy, Reggies & Jay Bahd, and also Kwesi Arthur and Stormzy on the remix produced by Chris Rich.
Yaw Tog admitted in an exclusive interview with Amansan Krakye that despite his success in the music industry and the fact that many people regard him as a star, he does not yet consider himself to be one.
“To me, fame has not really entered me so I live my life as a normal person and I don’t see myself as a big artiste who is so proud or arrogant,” he disclosed.
He added that he doesn’t want to think of himself as a celebrity because he doesn’t want to become haughty about it, which accounts for his humility.
“Although people see me as a big artiste but the moment you also see yourself as a celebrity or big artiste it makes the fame enter you to do certain things that you’ll regret later on.
“So for now I will say that it’s the people that are doing everything like this is Yaw the celebrity but I don’t see myself as a celebrity or big artiste,” he said.
“I shouldn’t even think about that to the extent that it will enter my head to feel too big for people to easily approach or talk to me,” he concluded on the Kastle Drive Show.
