Despite the Black Stars’ shaky record leading up to the 2022 Globe Cup, coach Otto Addo is confident in his squad’s ability to defeat any team in the world.
Having been placed in Group H with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea, Addo’s squad will be put to the test in Qatar.
The group stage for the Black Stars will begin with a match against Cristiano Ronaldo and company, continue with a match against Uruguay, and conclude with a match against the Asians.
Only two of their previous eight matches have ended in a victory, but Addo is still confident in his team’s ability to compete with any team in the world.
“I know we can beat any team in the world, that one is for sure. I think it’s the first game for us but also the opponent can be very decisive on how to go on the second one,” he told TV3.
“Because surely you will go into a match differently if you need points. Then if the opponent has lost and you have three points or one point, it is a bit different. The first match is very decisive and then from there we can know how to go on the second match.”
